The embracing tropical climate guarantees that the weather will be pleasantly warm. But depending on the season, rainfall varies greatly. To be clear, below the equator, it is summer when it is winter in Europe or the USA. Although, in the tropical countries of Southeast Asia, there are only three seasons. Of course, there will not be a real winter in such hot countries.
Do you want to make your holiday really successful? Then keep in mind that the rainy season lasts from May to November. So, travelling during this period is not recommended. You understand that the best time to visit Thailand is usually between December and April. Book your vacation in these months and, you will have a great yoga vacation and completely recharge your battery.

Stunning landscapes you like to discover instantly
Thailand consists of several regions. The north is mountainous and wooded. The east, the Isaan, is flatter and borders the famous Mekong River. The south has beaches and sea at the Gulf of Thailand. And several rivers flow right through the middle of Thailand. These flow into a giant river delta near Thailand’s most important city, Bangkok. So, this is a country with many faces and landscapes.
Beautiful mountains and a vast undiscovered jungle
Get to know more about the best time to visit Thailand while you travel north. The north of Thailand is mountainous and wonderfully lush green. The highest mountain is over eight thousand feet. The bedazzling mountain landscape is excellent to travel to. Do you like to climb the highest mountain? Or just watch the highest peak from Thailand if you are not a climber? Then it is a good idea to visit Doi Inthanon.
Furthermore, there are several national parks in the north of Thailand. Here you find rich and abundant forests with all kinds of animal species. Thailand’s north has cloudy forests evoking bewildering energy inside your body you have never experienced before. See or hear magical birds whistling between the leaf. Together with colourful elusive amphibians and reptiles. Or divine celestial animals such as white elephants or wild boars.
So if you want to enjoy untouched nature in a beautiful jungle during your holidays and combine this with meditation, yoga and spirituality, then this region is a travel destination for you.
Along the Mekong River through the Isan
The northeast of Thailand is called Isan. Because Isan borders Laos, the culture is more similar to neighbouring Laos. A large part of Isan has the Mekong as a border river with Laos. The Mekong River is a beautiful live giver for local people. For travellers, it is a destination where river ferry cruises are a terrific way to spend your time.
The Mekong floats like a shining snake through the green foresty mountains. So, if you like water or a boat trip, this part is a pleasant destination in Thailand to travel to. Maybe even more spectacular to visit are the wondrous canyons in the rocky Sam Pan Bok. You find them near the banks of the beautiful Mekong River.

Turquoise coloured mangrove jungle
Right through the middle of the Thai lowland flows the Chao Phraya River. For Thai people, this river is maybe even more meaningful than the Mekong River. The Chao Phraya is fed by several rivers that originate in the north. The delta river flows into the Gulf of Thailand near Bangkok. Very surprisingly, there are no pearly white sandy beaches here. But you will find beautiful mangrove forests in a cyan-coloured oasis of seawater. Trees grow here in a fabulous way in the salty seawater. If you have the chance to take a boat trip through a turquoise mangrove fairytale forest, take this exceptional opportunity right away. An absolute must-visit for travellers to Thailand.
The Gulf of Thailand
In the south, you will find the magnificent Gulf of Thailand. Thailand is known for this as a tourist attraction. There is sun, sea and you will also find plenty of beaches. These are mainly aimed at mainstream tourists.
The water has a deep blue-green clear colour throughout. The beaches are covered with beautiful white sand. Along the coast and in the sea, you will find spectacular rocks covered with all kinds of wondrous trees and shrubs. There are also serene lagoons, bays and coves. These are relaxed locations to unwind. There are several resorts where you do yoga or meditation.
Islands can be found both in the Gulf of Thailand and on the west coast of the Andaman Sea. Many islets cover only a few square miles, but the larger islands are well-known tourist hotspots. Don’t you think this is a nice location to join a yoga or wellness resort? Else there are certainly some monasteries that welcome you to live in a more ascetic and spiritual way. So, if you are more interested in an authentic experience during your holiday, you can visit one.
Thailand: a paradise yoga destination
So, spiritual Buddhist travellers will experience pleasant weather in Thailand. It is better to travel when there are no monsoon rains.
Do you plan to participate in real monastic life by becoming a Bhikkhu? Likely, you are not (really) looking for paradise conditions.
On the other hand, you might be looking for a completely different holiday where time is also made available for wellness, yoga and meditation in a resort. Then you usually experience a warm temperature as extra stimulating and positive to relax.
However, the most remarkable and breathtaking is the nature of Thailand. The wonderful lush green surroundings give the feeling that you have arrived in a true paradise. But, you have to consciously look for a pleasant meditative environment. This is less easy to find in cities, compared to the more rural areas.
The landscape of Thailand has many different characteristics. In the north, the area is more mountainous. And in the higher regions, it is frequently below ten/fifty C/F degrees at night. Thailand is an excellent location for serious Buddhists to follow the Thai Forest Tradition meditations in nature. The south is on the Gulf of Thailand. Here you will find the beach, sea and countless islands. You can relax blissfully.
